This pastoral counselling model is designed to be applicable to Pacific/Samoan people, but can be realigned for others as well.
There are three(3) stages to this model, Engage, Explore, Empower.
1.Engage
This model requires the pastoral counsellor to first engage with the client.
2.Explore
Then the pastoral counsellor must explore alongside the client.
3.Empower
Finally, the pastoral counsellor must encourage the client to step out of the va’aalo/canoe, and enjoy life.
